About the CEO of Vision Weavers Consulting, LLC
Brenda Kirk is a proven leader with a track record of building teams that have transformed both emerging and failing nonprofit and governmental departments into award winning operations. With hands-on experience, Ms. Kirk has led successful capacity building models and transformed operations in a multitude of areas including advocacy and public policy, health care administration, housing and community development, nutrition and food distribution, social services and disaster response.
Her educational background in nutrition led to a 16 year career working for the Cherokee Nation where she focused on improving the quality of life and health status of “at risk” Native American children and families. During this time, Brenda was elected to serve as President of the National WIC Association. In the final years with the Cherokee Nation, Brenda tackled other special projects such as redesigning the Nation’s community development department.
In 1996, Brenda moved to Houston, Texas with her husband, Jim. To help familiarize her with the greater Houston area, she began a consulting practice concentrating on process improvement and program evaluation in the non-profit sector. In 1997, Brenda accepted the Executive Director position at the Houston Food Bank. During the next seven years, Brenda led the Food Bank to fiscal stability and national acclaim.
In 2005, Brenda left the Houston Food Bank to return to consulting and launched Vision Weaver Consulting, LLC. Ms. Kirk has found the consulting business to be challenging and rewarding on both a personal and professional level. Her intense passion and diverse experience allows her to have an immediate impact on her client’s operations.
